about Hü
Born and raised in San Francisco, Hü carries forward a multigenerational legacy of craftsmanship, care, and community. Inspired by his grandfather, Pablito Gamit, founder of the legendary Gamit Barbershop on Sixth Street, he inherited more than the technical discipline of barbering. He inherited the belief that how we present ourselves can shape how we move through the world.
After graduating from barber college in 2012, Hü began developing the idea for YOÜ by Hü in 2015 with a vision to create something beyond the traditional grooming experience. In 2019, that vision took physical form with the opening of the YOÜ by Hü Gallery, a space where barbering, image, art, and community could exist together.
Today, Hü works as both a barber and image advisor, helping each person discover a hairstyle that feels aligned with who they are now, not simply who they have been.
His favorite hairstyles to create are the ones that reflect a person's current energy, lifestyle, and season of life. The goal is never just to give someone a haircut. It is to create an image that feels natural to them and prepares them for every room they are about to walk into.
With more than a decade of experience, Hü blends timeless technique, contemporary craftsmanship, and thoughtful consultation into an intentional self-care experience. Every appointment is designed as a moment to slow down, reset, and reconnect with yourself.

Opened in 2019 in San Francisco’s SoMa district, The Yoü by Hü Gallery is the physical home of a vision first imagined in 2015.
Part private grooming studio, part creative space, the Gallery was built to offer something more intentional than the traditional barbershop experience. It is a place to slow down, reset, and give yourself the time and attention that daily life rarely allows.
Every appointment is personal and collaborative, bringing together thoughtful conversation, image advisory, expert craftsmanship, and self-care. The goal is not simply to leave with a new haircut, but to leave feeling more aligned with who you are today and prepared for every room you are walking into next.
